IT TAKES A GENERATION
The Black Ball is an annual fundraising gala benefitting Keep a Child Alive, a non-profit organization founded by Alicia Keys. Their mission is to realize the end of AIDS for children and their families in Africa and India.
The night focused on the new generation of young people living with HIV who were breathing a new life into this issue. The AIDS community has made so much progress in the fight against AIDS, but young people were being left behind - as HIV/AIDS is the second leading cause of death among adolescents. KCA’s aim was to close this gap in care and look to support and empower a generation of young people living with HIV, to actively lead us towards an AIDS free future.
The night was infused with the faces and words of young people through a combination of film, imagery and written word, giving young people a presence in the room. The design for the event programs incorporated black and white imagery paired with overlapping typography and graphic shapes. Creating a bold yet elegant design.
