ACTIVISM NOW
On World AIDS Day 2016, Keep a Child Alive (KCA) partnered with BET to discuss activism and the individual roles people play in creating change. They explored how activism is working today, through an interactive discussion with activists from various movements. The panel looked at the success of 1980s AIDS activism and how some of those methods could be implemented in movements today.
The panelists included Eric Sawyer of ACT UP, Alana Hairston from Keep a Child Alive, Sam Sinyangwe from Campaign Zero, Cristina Jimenez from United We Dream and Hannah Bronfman from HBFIT and Seed Street, with Michaela Angela Davis serving as the moderator.
The poster design features iconic imagery from controversial AIDS activism posters from the 80's. The imagery is slightly faded giving a direct nod to past and is paired with bold knocked-out and deconstructed typography.
